Later this week, our O’Hanlon team take the low road to Inchicore for a vital league match. With just one match win between us, we’re both unaquainted with the rarefied heights of being near the top of the table. With the kidnapping of the Chairman, still unresolved and recent results, Mark is keeping his team selection close to his chest, but at least we have some players available. It’s normal to lose hair when stressed, but Mark seems to be growing his at an alarming rate. ….let’s hope for a Full Moon come Thursday!! It did snow in Florida last week, so it may be climate related.
Inchicore may not have been promoted last year, though their team is very similar to the Bea team which almost de-railed our Cup winning squad from last year. This match saw both the “Black” McLoughlin’s lose and we escaped with a draw despite being outplayed. Inchicore ran high flying Elm Mount close last time round and will fancy their chances of breaking their duck, but we too have our own reasons to remain 5 points ahead of them. A win will push us up the league & heap more pressure on all of our rivals. Nobody at the moment seems to be breaking away and here is an opportunity for us to do so. Quite simply, Inchicore cannot afford to lose further ground if they hope to beat the drop as the current league positions indicate.
Ruy Lopez P 7 Pts 16.5
Naomh Barrog P 6 Pts 15
Blanchardstown P 6 Pts 15
St Benildus P 6 Pts 13
Inchicore P 6 Pts 10
We know it will be a tough close match, as it always is down there, but the pressure is all on them. Let Battle commence!!
