Six intrepid souls braved the wet weather to participate in the latest of events. Amidst much gnashing of teeth, it was clear to all that no one really knew what to do with white after the mainline 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 b5 4. cb a6 as every possible move was explored…….even illegal ones. The final result was Manolis 7, Randolph 6, Stefan 4.5, Gabor 4, Stephen 2.5 and John C backed us all up. John was unfortunate in that his clock moved faster than the others, so the scores don’t really tell the whole story. The cumulative scores are Manolis 12, Randolph 12, Stefan 8.5, Gabor, Rudolf and Mufasser 4, Stephen 3.5, John 3, Luke 2, Mark 1, John C 0.
As the Armstrong team host Dublin next week with the Bea team hosting Aer Lingus on the 5th October, we will continue this at a later date. Please ensure that the Hall is booked for the extra time regarding the team games guys.
