Our junior club will send some four or five teams (of four players per team) to play at the Mick Germaine Cup, to be held on December 8th in Drumcondra.
This event is organised by the Leinster Chess Union and full details are to be found here on the Irish chess Union website, see : https://www.icu.ie/events/1304
This event is suitable for all our players, especially our beginners. As a club, we normally make a fuss of our players on the day and ask that a parent take charge of each team of four.
Next week we will hold a club junior team event for Under 12s and those 12 and older in the club. This continues our preparation for the event. See separate notice.
Playing a team event in the club will prepare the players (e.g. using clocks, sitting playing alongside friends). The four team players are free to name their teams and so they will be invited to think about that important task……!
(For those who cannot attend next week, please bear in mind that all players are eligible to play and will be selected and placed on a team. So do not worry if you cannot attend the training event next week. Just watch our for details of the event in the weeks ahead.)
