Next Sunday sees the culmination of the league programme and most likely….a promotion for our top team and relegation for our 2nd team. The 1st team are looking to score no worse than Elm Mount as they play Gonzaga’s 2nd team…..in a Championship decider. Hopefully, we will have a better result than we did against Gonzaga in the National Club Championships which was recently won by them. Congratulations are in Order!! John & co will be keen to make a swift return to the Armstrong, and we wish our Top Secret Society Team well……….even if we don’t know individually who they are!!!. …other than the Black MC’s. If a Goody Bag could mysteriously drop on the Dinosaur’s table on Sunday morning……(Gabor??) perhaps a few memories could be recalled for the next report.?…please.
For Mark & the O’Hanlon squad, nothing less than a victory against our nearest rivals St Benildus now will do, Considering we’ve barely won a game all year….this looks to be a task too much!!. Led by our young Captain, it’s very clear that we are looking to the future, and will draft in some of our Juniors to step up next year, …we have no choice!! No team can lose half of their squad, and reserves and hope to compete in a higher division. Yet, despite many a heroic effort……………..none more so than Michael who has played when very ill. we salute you and the others.
Dublin University have been stripped of all their points won this season by the Professor Emeritus of the Faculty which is very disappointing for our friends there, considering that they were clearly going to win the title. Now their promotion is in doubt. This is both SAD and IRONIC considering that the Professor Emeritus not so subtly accused Mark of “Bending the Rules” on Social Media. Not knowing the facts, …………….points are not removed just because you look pretty……………..or to give other teams a chance, …………………….perhaps the Controller can remove any points that St Benildus get on Sunday!!.
Have fun everyone!
