The Silence is Broken!!!

Amazing what waiting for equipment can do???….whilst the 7th Day Adventists were holding a meeting at the school, they finally finished, closer to 2 than 1….Two things happened….we could finally get our equipment & two members of the Silent Order of the Invisible First Team nearly broke their long-standing vow of Silence to try and utter the latest score of their recent match. Unfortunately…..to hear this news, I was provisionally sworn to secrecy!! ….this involves………..no talking!   Is it Good news?….depends on what team you are? Some of our squad are still out there somewhere…trying to locate the venue or the chairman…or both! They agreed to start waving their hands to sign the score…….thus releasing them from breaking their vow of Silence. Not being conversant with modern hand signals or the the latest episodes of Star Trek, one can draw a simple conclusion………….20 fingers waving about is confusing!!

What’s not confusing is that we all enjoyed a friendly game of chess…another good turn-out from both Children and parents. We all mixed and matched and eyed our latest Club acquisitions…books. Chess was played and not too many glum faces. Even the adults got involved. Tomasz Fijalkowski thoroughly enjoyed himself as he now has a stuffed Dinosaur to remember the day by…two stuffed Dinosaurs to be exact as he won 2-0, however Rudolf and Sean decided to even up the scores. It was great to see the improvement and next week, sees a Club competition for those not at Bunratty…….should be fun!!

Our O’Hanlon Captain is seriously preparing for our vital Relegation match next tuesday………..attending a drinking Conference in Cork……..that does not sound right……….attending a Conference in Cork and you can guess the rest………………..good on you Buddy………just head North afterwards.
