Our Blanchardstown chess club will host a rapid chess tournament this Sunday January 12th, at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. This is a great opportunity for you to test your skills against the best players in Leinster! It is very suitable for new and experienced players alike and games are played in a very welcoming atmosphere!
Two rapid time control events are run over the day, as follows:
Lunchtime: the Junior event: (those under 18)
Juniors will start play at 1pm. Registration is from 12.30pm. Play will finish at around 5pm. Prizes for various age groups are offered.
Tea time: the Senior event:
(Adults and juniors): The senior event starts at 5.45pm and again registration is some 30 minutes before play starts, at 5.15pm. Cash prizes are offered for the senior event.
For those new to chess tournaments, you might note that in all cases players play in every round (i.e. Swiss tournament) and your games will be rated by FIDE.

Alternatively, you can also enter on the day but in this case please ensure you are at the event 30 minutes early to allow your registration.
