The Armstrong team travel to Dun Laoghire on Wednesday, hoping to continue their solid start to life in the top Division. DL have started with 2 narrow losses, one to newly promoted Rathmines, and will be eager to change their fortunes round. With the wily Anthony Fox, the in-form Seamus Duffy on 100%, and rising stars Tom O’Gorman with sister , Alice on board, this will not be straightforward. Taking equal points off teams within the same average rating bracket could be key to staying up & with title favourites Gonzaga next on the horizon, the more points gained here, the merrier will life be. Looking at the likely teams chasing Gonzaga, Elm Mount, Dublin University and St Benildus seem best placed to do so. Dublin are also strong, though the current 3.5 each tie with us will not help their cause. Balbriggan may yet come to rue their defeat at Bray, who despite having FM Colm Daly in their team, may be destined for a relegation scrap. Perennial strugglers Kilkenny will do what they always do to stay up, & that has seen some remarkable results over the past few years…..whilst Phibsboro are adrift at the bottom, having played two of the top four teams. The next 3 games could well determine their season’s outcome even before the break, and one of those is against us. Good luck Boys.
