We have a couple of active members playing in the Limerick Open. Step forward Rudolf Tirziman & Mark Cummins, our 2 Amigos in search of the Gold. However, the first day headlines belong to a young Gonzaga boy who won deservedly against the 2280 2nd seed, before following this up by beating WCM Diana Mirza 1895. Conor is rated 1543 so he’s having a great weekend for sure…..have Gonzaga found the Chess equivalent of Super powers or what? Anyway, Rudi also has 2/2 and faces top seed IM Lucien Costin-Miron and after his fine result in the IOM event, will not be fazed. Mark currently has 1/2 in the under 1400 event and will be hoping to win against Ronan Marron. Kevin Fitzpatrick is also playing in the Open and we wish all three of them well for tomorrow.
